What to Expect on Your First Visit

Before your appointment

  • It’s important to have something to eat before your appointment. If you’re hungry or dehydrated, your body is not in the optimal position to receive treatment.

  • Please wear loose fitting, comfortable clothing. Sports bras are not recommended if you’re coming in for neck &/ back pain. (It’s really easy to move around regular bra straps vs a racer back). I also have an ample supply of sheets for draping/covering.

  • Please fill out the New Patient paperwork when you have about 20-30 minutes to complete it. It’s very in depth! I’m here to meet you where you’re at and fill in the gaps, not judge you!

During

  • We’ll go through your intake to make sure I have all the info I need to best assist you. Additional assessments will be done according to your appointment type (postural assessment, manual muscle testing, ability to do exercises given, tongue and pulse, etc).

**If you are a new mama and can’t spend the full 1-2 hours for an initial appointment let me know!! I get it!! Sometimes you can’t be away from baby that long and we may need to spread out various assessments over a couple of appointments- you will still be treated at each appointment. You can also bring your little if you need to!

  • Your treatment, depending on what appointment type you select, may consist of acupuncture, manual therapy/bodywork, energetic work, etc.

  • If at any time you have questions or concerns, let me know! I’m happy to answer to the best of my ability.

After

  • Ideally, it’s best if you can soak in all the benefits of your treatment by taking it easy the next couple of hours. If you can’t, make sure to eat some good food and stay hydrated. Working out, swimming and hot/power yoga is not advised on the same day as treatment.

  • During and/or after your visit it’s not at all uncommon to feel super relaxed, some have said they feel “like jelly”, others have extra energy and some feel nothing at all. All of these are “normal”!
